WHY YOU NEED On THE DAY WEDDING MANAGEMENT . . . . . .

Because time is so precious, and support managing the ‘wed-min’ and organisation is without a doubt the biggest stress reliever, this service is one our clients especially love. Covering on the day coordination, set up, budget management, supplier relations, and communication, this service can extend to any area of wedding planning.

Have you meticulously planned the most incredible marquee, teepee, or outdoor wedding, but now realise that bringing it all together is going to be a challenge? As your special day gets closer the amount of administration, guest and supplier communication becomes relentless, and can take all the joy out of this magical time in your lives.

Family and friends are on hand to help, but we know you would much rather they were enjoying the celebrations, and fabulous pre wedding parties and pampering; than compiling lists, managing the last minute purchases, and generally stressing about every possible eventuality.

For over a decade our knowledge and expertise have ensured the whole run up to your wedding is a breeze, and you can guarantee we always bring the love and passion too.

Expertly creating your vision, while you and your family relax in the knowledge you are in the very safest hands.

We are all over the wedding day details, timings, positioning, weather, styling, and practicalities, they are second nature to us now, and we understand that for most of you this is the very first time you are chief planner, stylist, manager, investor, and VIP guests.

A calm happy couple and a seamless guest experience are a priority, whilst ensuring your day is memorable for all the right reasons. Ask any couple who have planned, and coordinated, a major family event themselves what their number one regret is; we hear it so often! “I wish I had invested in an On The Day Coordinator!” they say.

The investment really delivers in ways you cannot begin to imagine, ensuring you and your guests will have beautiful treasured memories, of a super special time spent together, celebrating one of your most important life events.

We understand that every event is different, and every client too, but rest assured we take time to understand your brief, and get to know you, and your suppliers. We freely share our knowledge, and advice, support you and guide you, always with you every step of the way.

For over a decade we’ve eagerly awaited the wedding season, excited to welcome our new clients, and hear all about their incredible briefs.Year on year we celebrate the magic of working on the most spectacular events, with rich, personal, design elements that never fail in reminding us that we genuinely do have the best job in the world.

This year will be even more exciting than most as we prepare to meet you, and get back to doing what we do best, after what has been a seriously challenging year for everyone.

To enquire about our availability, or understand a little more about the wedding services we offer, email or call us, we absolutely love hearing from you.

Congratulations and much love

Planning an intimate wedding

Are you considering a smaller, more personal wedding or civil partnership following the impact of COVID-19 and the restrictions on guest numbers?

It’s all about these complete rock stars – total legends – my very best friends – and their special day
In the summer of 2020

An altogether more personal post as we begin to look forward to the return of weddings.

A relaxed Lockdown small wedding - civil ceremony at Leeds Town Hall
All the fun for an intimate Civil Ceremony in Leeds

Is it possible to still have a wedding day celebration with current restrictions! It’s a question I get asked often, and on this post I’m going to answer some of the most recent FAQ’s, whilst also sharing the essential edit from this fabulous Civil Partnership of my unbelievably gorgeous best friend.

Two families coming together to witness the civil ceremony of life partners.
Treasured memories are captured at important life events

Let me introduce this incredible couple. They mean the absolute world to me, I love and adore them and if any couple were meant for each other these two were without any doubt. There was also never any doubt that Jane and I were destined for one of those rare and unique lifelong friendships. We are the perfect partners in crime, I really would do anything for her, but when it came to planning her long awaited important day she really didn’t need any help from me.

No matter what the weather love always wins

A super stylish couple their journey to making a legal commitment was never going to be a traditional one, they always wanted a free hand to create a day that was uniquely them. The notion of a wedding in every sense of the word was most definitely not the big dream for Jane and Bob.

Mixed sex Civil Partnership Leeds Town Hall
Finally a long awaited day of celebration

As government had marked the change for same sex unions allowing legal civil partnerships back in 2004, heterosexual opposite sex couples were excluded. This meant that unless you chose a traditional wedding you were not able to enter into a civil partnership which afforded the same benefits as married couples with regard to pensions, tax and inheritance. Jane campaigned, challenged, and supported a change to the law to make this legal for all couples, and when in December 2019 the government reviewed the Civil Partnership Act allowing mixed-sex couples to form a non religious union the planning began. A modern interpretation of a traditional wedding was all about a small intimate ceremony, private dining, followed by a fabulous big party for everyone. This was absolutely what they wanted and would perfectly reflect their relationship.

Sheltering from the rain is always going to be an irresistible photo opportunity

Unfortunately we all know what happened next! A pandemic was to put all the plans on hold but they were super chilled about it. The most important thing was always going to be the legal bit for them, but we understand it’s not the same for all our couples. The idea of not having the day you have always dreamt of has caused heartbreak and sadness for many as wedding days have been postponed, and postponed again. My advice has always been to do what is right for you, right now. In an ever changing and unpredictable world never before have we been reminded more to live in the moment. What’s really important is now, we can’t change what has already happened, and worrying about the future won’t change today. We only have the now assured, and to this end I believe we should not put our life on hold. And making the most of what you are able to do when we are able to do it is exactly what Jane and Bob did. They went ahead as soon as restrictions were lifted in the summer of 2020 and they had a sensational, albeit very wet, intimate Civil Partnership ceremony at Leeds Town Hall.

Isn’t life all about the love, the joy, and happiness

One thing this sassy, charismatic couple are not is totally comfortable in the spotlight. The very thought of old school formal wedding photography had them in a mild panic. The plan was to have family capturing relaxed amateur shots of the day, but I had just the photographer in mind for this modern classic. The night before the big day I shared my secret for the celebrations to be captured on film by Leeds based photographer Tim Dunk https://timdunk.com/

Wedding Photography https://timdunk.com/

Tim is an incredible, fearlessly creative photographer, whose style, calm and relaxed personality, and visual perspective was perfectly aligned with them both. It was a priority to get someone I knew and trusted to not only capture images as a lifetime record of their momentous life event, but a guy who would make them feel comfortable, allowing them to shine without any awkwardness or contrived unrealistic and uncomfortable posing.

Finally something to celebrate in 2020 – the year of the global pandemic

Photography really is king for recording special moments in our lives. It is the number regret of so many couples when they have chosen not to commission a professional photographer.

Isn’t it all about the most important people in your lives

Photography was Jane and Bob’s biggest fear but became one of their greatest memories.

Oh brother
Yes sister
Not your typical wedding shot of the boys
When an image captures the mood of the girls

A truly unforgettable day.

And for those of you still hanging on to the dream of your long awaited special day, and for those of you new to planning your fabulous wedding celebrations, below are just a few of the words of advice for the questions that I regularly get asked.

Should we wait until we can have the big party we hoped for? Look at all the options, and be guided by what’s right for you. You can always have a big party on your anniversary.

Should I wait until guest numbers are increased? This is a tough one as often the biggest consideration is not being able to include older family members, but also if the BIG day surrounded by all your family and friends has been your dream it is understandably a more difficult decision. Once again you have to do what’s right for you and seek advice from a professional wedding planner to look at alternatives. Thankfully we now have a roadmap with provisional dates including a guide to the increasing guest numbers, and I guarantee if you can hold tight it will most definitely be a wedding day worth waiting for.

Can we get married legally just the two of us, and still have a ceremony and the day we planned at a later date? Absolutely you can. When register offices reopen you will be able to have a legal wedding ceremony just the two of you and two witnesses. Followed by a ceremony conducted by a celebrant with all your exciting plans, family and friends included.

Are there wedding venues that cater for smaller weddings? Don’t be afraid to reach out to Wedding Planners and Wedding Venues as there are so many incredible options which can include your symbolic ceremony, your wedding breakfast, and your fabulous wedding after party. Flexibility has been key throughout these changing times and now you have more choice than ever.

In my happy place

Please do ask away in the comments below if you have any questions or are just looking for some expert advice.

I’ve felt privileged and honoured to write this post and enjoyed every moment as I relived the joy of one of my very favourite peoples special day. I’ve loved talking about fabulous weddings in Yorkshire again, and cannot wait for the day to come when I’ll be back working with loved up couples on their luxury wedding plans here at home, and abroad.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to my wonderful friends for allowing me to share their incredible day, and to the man himself Tim https://timdunk.com/ for capturing it all in his own completely brilliant way.

Much love Pamella x

As the considerations are seemingly endless the earlier you discuss your plans with a professional the less likely you are to encounter any issues further down the line that were so important to you. These could be COVID-19 restrictions, limited guest numbers, flight and quarantine rules, venue stipulations that don’t allow naked flames or even insist on their own preferred suppliers. We will discuss the potential of crazy weather conditions and the precautions you can take, as well as your timings, the additional costs that squeeze your budget, or noise restrictions that can exclude your favourite band. Saving precious time early in the process could be the best wedding decision you make.

2020 may not have been the year of the luxury wedding – but we can promise we are planning something very special for 2021 weddings.

Much love for now from all the team at Pamella Dunn Events

The Rise Of The OUTDOOR CEREMONY.

Summer wedding flowers, and contemporary acrylic plinths for a beautiful outdoor wedding on the lawn at the breathtaking Yorkshire wedding venue

Holdsworth House.

Caught up in lockdown limitations we are still navigating our way through these exceptional times, but it seemed like the right time to share a common theme running through some of the recent requests that have landed in the inbox, and our latest advice on weddings as we live and work through the Covid-19 pandemic.

White wooden chairs and fabulous wedding florals.

Now more than ever planning for a celebration is something we are all looking forward to. Weddings, parties, ceremonies and events will all return, but they may not look like they used to do for quite sometime.

Huge flower balls by the incredibly talented River & Rose, line the aisle before taking centre stage as the wedding breakfast centrepieces.

How we envisage the future is very personal, and how we plan for a scaled back socially distant wedding will be one persons idea of the perfect day and another’s ultimate horror. We know you need vision and guidance to create events of the future, that you’ll be looking for the lead from your guests and your venue, and as we live in a constantly changing era we will continue to be a trusted space where you can turn for help and our thoughts on the current situation.

A handmade, exquisite English Country Garden wedding cake by Pretty Sugar Cake Company

As you can imagine we have quite a few questions for the government, such as, will there be a change in the laws, will the option to get married anywhere – as you currently can in Scotland – be introduced in Britain. This would be a welcome boost for the industry, whilst offering scope for couples to get married in their own garden, on a lake, or at a favourite beauty spot for instance.

Huge pink roses, and white pom poms of hydrangeas, paired with soft foliage are a winning combination for outdoor ceremonies.

Unsurprisingly the outdoor ceremony and wedding party are rising in popularity. A trend influenced by oversees weddings where tropical vibes and wall to wall sunshine are highly likely; always the ultimate appeal. And although we have seen UK venues adapt and compete over recent years, now is really the time for wedding venues to seduce us with their outdoor facilities to meet predicted demand.

Quiet alone time for the couple on the day is precious, scheduling portrait shots creates this perfect time Emily shone in this incredible gown from the fabulous Dotty Bridal

Of course nothing could prepare any of us for the devastation Coronavirus has had if your wedding was planned for 2020, but the excitement landing in our inbox is helping us all look forward to creating extra special luxury outdoor weddings.

Gabriella wrote to us recently to ask ….

‘We’ve decided to postpone our wedding until next year and we are now looking to tie the knot at a woodland ceremony with an outdoor reception to follow. We’d like your help and guidance as we don’t really know where to start in terms of what we’ll need, how social distancing and guest numbers may impact our choices, and the challenges of outdoor events. Could we possibly discuss a checklist and ideas of things that are commonly overlooked when it comes to outdoor celebrations?”

So what flowers to have – we’ll work with you to design every detail of your wedding.

As outdoor ceremonies and receptions become more and more popular your choice of venue and location will come first. We will take advice on numbers and restrictions as lockdown eases, and follow closely government guidance, keeping you informed. We can tell you that it’s worth considering the logistics first, as well as checking you can come in on budget, all whilst keeping your friends and family happy and safe on the day.

Our top eleven questions are:

  • do you need water, and electric
  • is there enough space for you to hire in a large tent or marquee as a wet weather contingency and for catering for your guest numbers
  • how many days will you have the venue or location available for set up and take down
  • is the ground level
  • is access and parking sufficient
  • will you need to hire in bathroom and toilet facilities
  • will your tables and chairs stand up to being positioned directly on the ground
  • will your plan B cover hot as well as rainy weather, and possibly high winds, meeting the latest relevant government requirements
  • will you require wedding professionals for set up and on the day management – On The Day Coordination is key to a stress free event –
  • will your wedding vendors be required to wear PPE
  • will you have mobile and internet reception
Beautiful bridal portraits are treasured lasting memories for generations to come.

Remembering your Plan B will need to consider all weather conditions and cover, permitted outdoor structures, access, food, flowers, decorations, photography, live music and entertainment. And whilst in the UK we often worry about the rain, if the sun is shining and temperatures rise this comes with its own challenges. With keeping drinks cold being the biggest, but wilting flowers and buzzy bees can also be a problem. Think footwear too, and practice your walk up the aisle.

A seamless outdoor wedding anticipates all eventualities and takes months of careful planning. Take advice from a professional wedding planner and get your figures together before you book to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Your wedding is about doing things your way.

I believe there’s much awaited good news on the horizon for couples planning to marry in 2021 and beyond. Nothing elicits love and laughter, and treasured memory making like a family wedding, and it seems fitting following these unstable times. We live in hope that deliciously fabulous and glamorous celebrations are not too far off.

Stay safe, be kind, and do get in touch with your wedding questions

COVID-19 Communication

You’ve read a lot of these I know, but with the current climate so uncertain and changing daily we wanted to share our advice, and an update about how to best tackle this difficult situation when planning the most memorable and important day of your lives together.

We have always believed in the power of love: In creating joy, in bringing people together. Our weddings are designed to enrich your hearts and minds, celebrating one of life’s truly magical moments. With coronavirus (COVID-19) declared a global pandemic, we are helping our clients, their guests, suppliers and the wider industry to manage the uncertainty, the worry – both emotionally and financially. Like you, we are making daily decisions as to how we can keep our couples, clients, and partners safe and healthy. Our commitment is to adhere to the W.H.O advice, and protocols advised by the government. The well-being of you, our clients and your safety is paramount, and we want to reassure you that health and safety is our absolute priority. We have introduced a number of measures to help prevent the spread of the virus, and for now these include holding virtual meetings where ever possible, and updating you via email and phone. In this extremely fast- moving situation we are following developments so we can adapt where necessary.
Staying Informed and Healthy: First and foremost, we care about everyone’s safety, and are closely monitoring the situation and guidance from the government website, and the World Health Organisation (WHO). Because the situation and policies are changing daily, we encourage everyone to stay informed and follow the recommendations of your local health authorities, but please always remember we are here for you and will happily give our best advice.
Still the best advice
Staying safe: No matter what your plans are, it’s worth repeating when you are advising your guests or team that the WHO’s advice for protecting yourself and others is still: Wash your hands frequently with soap and/or alcohol-based sanitisers; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; cover your mouth or nose when you sneeze or cough; and maintain distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Of course, if you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing yourself, seek medical attention.
Helping Our Clients: Postponing all our 2020 weddings has been heartbreaking, and we have been overwhelmed with the support in the industry as we have all worked together to ensure we have provided all our clients with the support they needed, and found solutions in all cases. Our focus will now be on helping couples and suppliers with the possibility of things changing at short notice. We will support everyone as new regulations and legal requirements are introduced that will need to be adhered to. Next year will be the year of epic celebrations, with wedding fever welcomed.Together we will find solutions and work arounds, allowing you to plan and make the necessary decisions more confidently.
Postponing your date; If you haven’t already and you are considering rearranging your date speak to your venue and discuss a number of future dates, these may include weekdays and Sundays. Flexibility will offer you the most choice and maybe secure all or most of your original wedding team. We are delighted that to date all our suppliers are offering flexibility in terms of postponement and fees. We suggest that before you confirm a new date with your venue and registrar or church, check availability with your wedding team, and should your suppliers not be available what their policy is. This is your special day and the industry as a whole never forget that the success of your wedding day is built on trusted relationships and exceptional service, they really are being as understanding as they can be, whilst managing their own concerns and financial worries. We recognise that these are uncertain times, and that not everyone has insurance, or can claim but please know we are here to support you in anyway we can. Get in touch, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask us anything! Advice is free, and so is support. We will do what we can to help, it’s what we do with so much love.

Take care and happy planning Pamella xxx

Should I Hire A Wedding Planner?

Being awarded Wedding Planner Of The Year and receiving recognition from Bridebook has been one of Pamella’s highlights since launching her business nearly 10 years ago. One of the questions she frequently gets asked is why do I need a wedding planner, and as we are about to launch our brand spanky new website we thought we’d share our thoughts on why you need a wedding planner.

Hiring a wedding planner …..

Well the truth is, not everyone does, so we put together this article looking at areas to consider when planning your wedding. Which we hope uncovers some of the mystery surrounding the role of a planner.

Where you begin your personal wedding planning journey really depends on how you visualise your marriage taking shape. Most of us live in an era where we struggle to find extra hours as we rush from one demand on our precious time to another, where often just finding time to even think about what you might like for your significant celebration is tricky.  Consider this short list and step into the magical world of wedding planning confident you are heading in the right direction.

6 key wedding planner questions Pamella asks:

1 – Have you chosen a date, place and venue?

These considerations will help you highlight where you will want additional support, advice and guidance. The answers will be quite different for every couple, but using the services of experienced professional planners for all or part of the above will allow you those moments to reflect, and take in the whole experience confident in the knowledge you are in safe hands.

My Wedding Business Course: The London Edition

The world of weddings at PD HQ has always been a sparkly one, but when Charlotte Spain of highly commended blog Redamancy came in to our world a little over a year ago it got a whole lot sparklier. There has been a liberal sprinkling of luxe shimmer, a twinkling glow of sass and style that lights up our world. We love her and here she shares the inside story of the My Wedding Business Course at the BLoved Hive.

Redamancy Blogger Charlotte Spain

Hey ….

I’m here to share some truths about the business training and a little behind the scenes goss on the my Wedding Business Course.

London, wedding studio, wedding workspace, wedding industry,
B.LOVED.HIVE

Having been an instant success since its beginnings in December 2015, The My Wedding Business Course is incredibly close to celebrating its first birthday. And before we bring out the white and gold birthday cake (so on-brand for the Queen of Weddings, and founder of ‘My Wedding Business’, Pamella Dunn) and blow out the candles on a successful year of mentoring, coaching, and making dreams come true, we wanted to give you the full lowdown on My Wedding Business’ first trip to London. Undoubtedly, the first of many.

120 existing, and budding, wedding professionals will have attended one of these courses before the end of 2017. That’s 120 inspiring men and women who will continue to shape the face of the wedding industry from this point on. From wedding planners to florists, couture dress designers to wedding bloggers – anyone who is anyone has walked through the door of Pamella Dunn HQ and been met with the, now, iconic “Hi Darling!” and a massive hug. Pamella’s excellence in customer service and throwing a great event, has meant every single delegate has left her course with a burning desire to make their life, and their business, exactly how they want it. Because she’s just shown them how.

your tribe, your vibe, branding,
Your vibe attracts your tribe

And so it wouldn’t be fair to keep this beehive of success up in the North of England, where it began, when there are wedding professionals far and wide who would love a bit of brand-PD fairy dust sprinkled upon them. As well as a dusting of realism for good measure, because the great thing about Pamella is that she wants you to succeed so much that she’s not going to fob you off with glossed-over non-answers. So, September 22nd 2017 marked My Wedding Business’ first trip to London. Now, if that sounds to you like some sort of school / university field-trip then I assure you that the amount of giggles had over the course of 24 hours was very much the same. Because you cannot recreate the vibe of the original series in Yorkshire without bringing along your trusted Photographer, and friend, Amanda Wilcock from Cream Photography to take some professional headshots and make everyone roar with laughter. And a couple of us My Wedding Business Day One-ers wanted to come along for the ride too.

lunch break, networking, woman in business, entrepreneur,
Networking over lunch

After much deliberation and window-shopping through venues, there was only one place that would capture all of the creativity, excitement, and inspiration that these courses bring. The B.Loved Hive, based in The Biscuit Factory at Bermondsey is a space that every Girl Boss / Femtrepeneur / whatever you like to call it, would feel like they could conquer the world from. And if there’s one thing that these courses try to instil in every delegate, it’s that. Even the colour-scheme inspires! Millennial pink captures the essence of the industry’s non-existent glass ceiling (hallelujah!) whilst complementing tones of black and grey really demonstrate the grit and determination required to get the job done.

I have attended a few of Pamella’s courses over the last 12 months. I was there right at the very beginning when creating a mini-styled shoot was on the agenda, and I’ve since delivered blogging workshops after my win at The Blog Awards in April this year. But, you could just tell that the group of beauties that walked through the door of The Hive last Friday morning meant business and were here to learn. All currently studying with The UK Academy of Wedding and Event Planning, and all aspiring Wedding Planners themselves, it was clear to see that each and every one of them had something so valuable to bring to the industry.

Alex, of Fizz and Bloom, already has the whole style, customer service, and luxury living thing down to a tee having run her own Beauty Salon since 2009. And it was whilst beautifying the ladies of Norfolk that she realised she would love to channel her creativity into producing stunning weddings under her namesake, Fizz and Bloom (pretty cool, huh?)

Jade of Jade Leung Weddings and Special Events already has style in abundance (check out her insta if you haven’t already) and yet her biggest hurdle coming onto the course was the fact that in North Wales, where she lives, Wedding Planning has not yet become commonplace. Although, seeing her passion, enthusiasm, and gorgeous attitude on the day, it’s clear as day that she will certainly find a way to become one of the big names.

Hannah is another future superstar of the wedding industry. You can tell that she has what it takes to push through any boundaries that any of us have to face in the industry, and her desire to learn shone through the whole day. If she ends up being your wedding planner in the future then you’ve done good!

Alia hails from Lebanon and spends half her time in London and the other half in Dubai. Like all strong business women, Alia came onto the course keen to get her pricing right and perfecting her business model before going all guns blazing over in the UAE. Ladies and Gentlemen, watch this space…

serbia, manchester wedding planner,
Rana

Rana is extremely well travelled and has lived all over. It was obvious to see from the very start that she has the style and flair to make all of her dreams come true, with that gentle sophistication which makes for all of the best planners and stylists. Keen to seek out networking opportunities, she is ready to launch and there will be no looking back!

So now you have met the truly inspiring gang of go-getters that we all got the pleasure of meeting a week ago, and they got the pleasure of hearing Pam lead them through a whistle-stop tour of the industry. What does it cover? What doesn’t it cover! How to price your business, how to utilize social media to gain bookings, discovering your ideal client, how to network your way to the top of your game. It’s all there – a guide of how to achieve everything you could want along with coffee (I’d turn up to any event for that alone most of the time), lunch, and the invaluable opportunity to meet people who are just like you.

networking, woman in business,
Sharing stories ..

This time, in addition, we had the genuine pleasure to hear from Louise Beukes who founded not only The Hive, but the infamous B.Loved Blog which shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. In fact, Louise is more in-demand than ever! Having recently launched her own courses, styling shoots for big-name brands, and running her popular Facebook Group ‘Meet, Learn, Thrive With The Hive’. She spoke to the delegates about her own story – where she started, how she made it work, and the legacy that she has now built with her own two hands (and a dose of that signature style).

blogging workshop london, sharing skills,
Blogging workshop

That was just the morning! And the afternoon passed with similar gusto – a blogging workshop delivered by myself, and headshots and product shots taken by the fabulous Amanda. There was just enough time for us all to flick through the incredible collection of magazines displayed around The Hive, and get to know each other and our stories a little bit more, before we realised the time and couldn’t believe that another My Wedding Business course had just wrapped up.

styling, foliage garland, lunchtime, geometric,
Because we can’t go anywhere without some styling magic …

And it’s with an enormous amount of pride that I am able to write this summary. Not only because I can look back and see how far my own business has come since I attended that very first course back in December ‘16 – and the enviable opportunities that have come my way because of the advice that I gratefully received from Pamella. But also because the lady right at the helm of it all has become more than a mentor; she is a friend. And seeing your friend living her dream up-and-down the country, all the while inspiring more wedding industry pros to live their own, is something you cannot help but feel in awe of.

2018 marks the year that Pamella will accomplish everything she set out to achieve 7 years ago, when the business brilliance that is Pamella Dunn Events was born. She will host a 3 day International styling retreat in Australia for those who want to learn about creating weddings with killer effects and exquisite details from the very best. And the best part about it all? She will be inviting you along for the ride – yes, you! But until then you can still book on another My Wedding Business course and join the likes of Alex, Jade, Sarah, Alia, Rana and a whole host of other graduates who now have all the tools they need to go hell for leather with their businesses.

Pamella, thanks for having me! Until next time folks…

Introducing Pamella Dunn Brand Ambassador Ellie Of Ellie Kime Weddings

Day Seven:

Hiya! I’m Ellie, from Ellie Kime. As you may have guessed, my wedding business is, at the heart of it all, me. My unbridled eagerness, my passion for making dreams come true, my magpie tendencies for anything remotely shiny, and my penchant for making conversation and connections with the industry’s best…all of these culminate in my wedding planning. Alongside a (terribly chosen) philosophy degree in the Smoke, I’ve been gaining experience in the industry for years: working as an events coordinator, interning under the wonderful Pamella Dunn, working for the most incredible wedding blog and network And So To Wed, and assisting with the dreamy A Most Curious Wedding Fair.

I’m also one of the recommended wedding planners at the beautiful Deighton Lodge, just outside York. This inimitable experience, coupled with my trademark enthusiasm and creative flair, means I want to take the wedding world by storm. In fact, positive mental attitude: I’m going to take the wedding world by storm.

Whether you’re a bride looking for someone who you can be confident in entrusting with organisation and styling of your big day, or as an industry member looking for someone who is a perfect fit for your next vision, I’m your gal. It’s all about making a connection, whether it’s with your perfect idea of how your entire day should run start to finish, how your venue will match your Pinterest board, or how to find the suppliers who will be as excited about your day as you are (and I am!). I live, breathe and dream weddings and happiness, and am regularly on the hunt for more adjectives because there’s only so many times you can describe something as gorgeous. Even though most things in the wedding world are gorgeous. We’re lucky like that!

Introducing Pamella Dunn Brand Ambassador Victoria of Hummingbird Occasions

On Tuesday and Wednesday we featured two amazing new wedding businesses and PD ambassadors. If you missed them don’t worry you can catch up after you’ve met the simply gorgeous Vicki of Hummingbird Occasions a beautiful wedding planning and styling company based in the south west of the UK.

Day Three:

Meet the gorgeous Vicki

My desire to become a wedding and events planner really became clear when I often felt elements where missing from corporate events and parties. I found myself brainstorming what I would have done differently to take the event to the next level. As a mum of two, I found the same thing at children’s birthday parties. They seemed so commercial rather than styled with a clear theme in mind. Isn’t that what makes children’s parties so fun?!

I took my passion for events and enrolled to study with the UK Academy Of Wedding And Event Planning. Then in 2016, I decided to put all my knowledge, passion and skills to use and am incredibly proud to have launched Hummingbird Occasions.

You & Your Wedding, hitched & Perfect Wedding Magazine

I started the business with big dreams and huge goals. I dreamt of planning, designing and styling fabulous weddings for lovers all over the globe. I wanted to share my love of fresh flowers and passion for stylish accessories and blow the minds of our clients. I wanted to take their ideas and exciting plans to the next level, giving first class customer service using the freshest most beautiful blooms.

And through meticulous planning, hours of hard work and so much support from my gorgeous family, amazing friends, wonderful clients and fabulous wedding industry professionals I have seen my small Yorkshire based business grow and achieve so much in just 5 years. This year we launched International consultations, meeting our gorgeous brides and grooms face to face across the globe and I couldn’t be more excited.

We have a small cutting garden where we can pick the freshest seasonal flowers with the most beautiful perfume. The David Austin Country Garden Roses are our favourite.

Roses cut from the garden when in season have the most amazing perfume, they remind me of being a little girl.

This is the first award we have been shortlisted for – ever; and I am so ridiculously excited and honoured to be nominated along with 11 other wonderfully talented florists. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our exciting, and at times very scary journey, if you have voted already you’re superstars and we appreciate so very much.

It is now all down to public vote and those businesses you feel deserve to win the awards in each category. If you feel we deserve your vote it takes just a second, and if you could share with your friends and family I would be over the moon. As a small business in the north we need all the votes we can! I am so proud and this award would really mean the world to me.

You can vote in as many or as few categories as you wish, just click submit votes when you have finished.
